Plaka is one of the oldest sections of Athens. It is
full of ancient findings, landmarks, restaurants, and
all kind of shops,cofee shops, touristic shops, jewlery
shops etc.

The most characteristic thing in Plaka are the slip-roads
in which you can hang out for hours stupefing the stores,
in which you can find all kind of souvenirs.
The
archaeological sight-seeings in Plaka are many, the
famous Tower of the Winds, the ancient Agora, the doorway
of the Medrese, originally a theological school founded
in 1721 by Mehmet Fahri,the Monument to Lysikrates,
Columns of Olympian Zeus, etc.

There are a few galleries,several museums ,the Children's
Museum, the Music Museum, the Greek Folk Art Museum
and the Jewish Museum which is right at the entrance
to the Plaka at Nikis and Kydatheneon streets.
 
Plaka is a magical place, witch seduce you pleasurably.
You just have to be patient and have plenty of time
to explore as much as you can.
